Geometric Lines...

Swatch // Butter London: Blagger

I love me some Butter London Nail Polish, so I was pretty darn excited to get my hands on this beautiful blue polish- Blagger.

I am quite fond of the Butter London bottles, however they have quite little bottle caps, which can be difficult to paint with.

The colour of this one is a bit more vibrant than in the bottle and a really solid  opaque colour.

The formula was fantastic, smooth and consistent!
The colour was easy to apply- no streaks - and super opaque.

Overall I love this polish! I can't wait to get my hands on more Butter London.

Trip down nail art lane // day two

I'm finally posting day two of
Trip Down Nail Art Lane

Ok, so I have been doing these sporadically, not sticking to each day...
Sorry about that...
Day two's challenge is to use my last purchased in 2013 and my first purchased in 2014...

I can't remember my last purchased of 2013, but I did get some polish for Christmas... Including emotions by OPI... So I used that one.

My first purchase of 2014 was actually a OPI Mariah Carey mini set of liquid sands... I chose one of these as the second polish.

I used OPI Liquid Sands Emotions (black) and OPI Liquid Sands Silent Stars Go By...

Not my best manicure, but I quite like it :)

Apologies that the heart looks a bit like Mickey Mouse... But I'm getting better :)

Sorry about the lighting on this one!

Overall I'm quite pleased with this manicure... Also do you know how difficult it is to draw straight lines with liquid sands!!!!

What do you think? Like the look too?

Swatch // OPI: My Current Crush

Again, a liquid sands I had been dying to add to my collection!
I saw this on some American (?) bloggers blogs a while ago- apparently it's a special edition thing that comes with OPI base coat...
Safe to say I have not see this yet in New Zealand, so I was stoked to see this on eBay!

Now for a photo of this beautiful polish!

Below in (bathroom) white light (haha- it turned terribly rainy and overcast!)

I love it!
The consistency was great! Opaque and quick dry time!
The texture is a fine grain, not as rough as the other liquid sands I've tried (similar texture to pussy galore).
The placement of glitters is just right, it's not too sparkly, but not just a plain purple cream polish.

It is a must have if you've been looking for a purple liquid sands!

Swatch // OPI: Pussy Galore

I finally got my hands of this polish!!! I have been wanting this for so long!

I now (almost) have the complete Bond Collection!
And now for the photos:

No top coat in indoor sunlight

No top coat in direct sunlight

With Seche Vite Top Coat, indoors

Overall thoughts:
I had been pining after this polish for so long when I finally got my hands on it I was ecstatic!
When I first put this polish on (one coat) I was initially disappointed, it appeared sheer and not very sparkly. My expectations from other liquid sands are that they are uber sparkly and a grainy feel.
The texture of this polish was a finer grain and not nearly as rough textured as other liquid sands polish.
There is definitely is some sparkle and I found this showed so much better with top coat.
I found this average with no top coat, but really like it with top coat! I will definitely be wearing this again with top coat, and think this could be my new go to pale pink.

What do you think? Have you tried it yet?

Pretty quick to do now too.

Do you like it too?

Bright chevron!

I'm not sure about the colour choice, but I'm impressed with my pretty steady zig zag stripes...

What are your thoughts?

Diva Polish // Wonderful Watermellon

A brief post, about an amazing polish!

This polish from Diva smells just like sweet, synthetic, sugary watermelon... The secet reminded me of those "cool charm" body sprays I owned as a teenager.

And the colour is epic!

Formula wise it was easy to apply. A little on the thick side, but that helped ensure consistancy and an even finish. The colour is opaque in one - two coats.
I had this on without top coat for a day and didn't notice any chipping, however some wearing on the tips (worn on my natural nails)

What are your thoughts? Have you tried this polish out before?

Leafy green nails....

Today I was sitting in the lounge feeling bored and uninspired...
This was my view:

Which ultimately became my inspiration...

We recently purchased this (and another) fake plant from Stevens... Yes fake!
I love the look of indoor plants, however my most recent indoor plant, some cute mini ivy, did not do too well in my care ::insert sad face::
So fake it is!

My nails, inspired by my cutie plant, are supposed to be mini leaves...
What do you think?
I used:
OPI: thanks a windmillion - for the base
Arcrylic Paint - black and white for leaves outlines
Revlon: Wind Fall - leaves
Essie: The more the merrier - leaves
China Glaze: Tree Hugger - leaves
China Glaze: Holly-day - leaves

Here's a photo of the nails and their inspiring plant...

And now for the arty shot!

What do you think?
Like the nails? Think I should re-do with different colours?
Like my arty shot? Or think the hand looks a bit creepy!

Raving on about Lemony Flutter

This is the most delicious smelling amazing and creamy cuticle oil!
I had to share!

I have been using this for about a month now (applying about every second or two days).
Prior to this i found my cuticles felt and looked really dry - you know that white, crusty looking skin... It wasn't quite at the stage of splitting or ripping, but I feel it was very close!
I often use pure aceton to clean up manicures - so that's rubbing it with a brush directly into my cuticle area only.

As you can see in the photo, smooth normal coloured cuticles :)

The texture is smooth, somewhat oily... But not too greasy. Like, I wouldn't say go play on your iphone straight after application, or you will find you get streak marks and greasy residue on screen. Lemony flutter absorbes in quite well after a few minutes and you can go back to using your hands like normal (just with a more hydrating/soft hands)

Love it!
And you only need a tiny bit to do all your cuticles!!!!
I do actually get spur dry elbows and use this on them too!!!!

Love love love it!

Trip down Nail Art Lane // Recreating my first nail art design...

So exciting....

This is my design for the first day of the challenge:

As you can see I was clearly starting out!
MyLove thinks the spots look like I have a skin (or nail) condition...

the re-vamped design looks much much better!
And some different lighting for the new nails design..

I like the finished look of this...

What do you think???

I did some playing around with some loose glitter peices...

I came up with the following design... To be fair I'm not really a fan of this...

What do you think?

Attempting tribal nails...

I'm not completely satisfied with these nails... I really was struggling for inspiration today so started drawing lines to try and inspire me... This is what I ended up with.

What do you think?

Well at least I have lots of time to improve eh?
